The property is situated in open countryside with far-reaching, Southern views, near Cambayrac in the Lot department, approx 20 minutes West of Cahors.
Beautiful surrounding countryside. Nearby local amenities including supermarkets, banks, bakeries and café bars and restaurants in Luzech, Sauzet and Prayssac.
Cahors, 20 minutes is a very pretty market town with hypermarkets and busy town centre with many restaurants and pretty riverside cafés.
Canoes and bicycles can be hired locally in Anglars-Juillac and other activities include Hot-Air-Ballooning, sky diving and horse riding, all of which are available nearby. Many vineyard châteaux are open to visitors for wine tasting.
There are many interesting places to visit. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a famous medieval village on a steep hillside above the river Lot. Boat Trips from Cahors provide an interesting way of getting there and enjoying the magnificent scenery from a different perspective. The famous shrine of Rocamadour is easily visited. The pretty village of Les Arques was home to the Russian Sculptor Zadkine and boasts a Museum of his amazing work.
The River Lot is one of the loveliest in France. The views from Belaye are spectacular as it meanders round fertile green farmland, the Cahors vineyards and many villages which have outstanding and atmospheric restaurants.
The region is widely regarded as a gastronomic paradise. Its cuisine is famous throughout France and beyond. Local specialities include dishes based on duck, goose, foie gras, wild mushrooms, truffles, plums, peaches, apricots, walnuts and their oil. The black wines of Cahors, raised on these stony hillsides, were known to the Romans and have seen a lively revival in recent years.
